- How long have you worked for Verbatim?
I’ll have been here two years in July - I can celebrate it by finishing the Race for Life! Before I came here I was doing bar work in pubs and at one point I thought about getting my own licence, but decided that shift work wasn’t good for me in the long-term.
- What do you like about working here?
It’s a really friendly place to work and we all get on very well. It’s a relaxed environment - and there’s no shift work!
- What gives you the most satisfaction about your work?
It’s great when clients give us feedback or testimonials, or just say thank you. It reminds us that we do make a difference to their business. Some send chocolates to say thank you for working so hard for us: that’s lovely and gives a sense of job satisfaction.
- You recently completed your NVQ2 in customer services. Tell us a bit about what you learned and how you think it will help you at work.
Yes, the NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Customer Service are something we are doing in-house and eventually all the receptionists will complete them. Grace and I were the first to do our level 2. It took about a year: I’ve done all the exams now and just have one small project to complete. It’s good because it has helped me to realise the different levels of customer service that you need to do a job like this to the best of your ability, and it also teaches skills to handle different clients and situations. I’ll be doing my level 3 next. It’s definitely worth it and is a real benefit if you are building a career around the field of customer services.
