- How long have you worked for Verbatim?
Seven years in total, although I did work elsewhere for two years in that time, but I came back as I realised that the grass isn’t greener!
- Have you done virtual reception work before?
No – I came here at 17 and have been here ever since, apart from those two years.
- How would you describe Verbatim's service?
I say it’s a reception service, but whatever it’s called, it’s an invaluable thing to our clients. Their customers will always get through to a live person, not a busy tone or answering machine.
- What do you like about working here?
It’s a relaxed office and I have a good relationship with my managers. The work is really varied - because we work on behalf of 400 clients, we get a real assortment of calls.
- What gives you the most satisfaction about your work?
Hitting the targets that I’m set in my one-to-one with my manager. I also like knowing that, given the correct information, we can act on behalf of any company. And, of course, I’ve made great friends here, which is really important.
- Your first baby is due in May. Will you be doing the Race for Life in July?
Maybe! There’s nothing stopping me from walking it. Either way, I’ll definitely be there to cheer the others on – they’ve all worked so hard.
- The office held a sweepstake recently about the weight of your baby. Who do you think will win?
I don’t know, but I hope it’s not our Office Manager, Nick – he predicted it would weigh 9lbs 3oz!
- Will you be coming back to work after having the baby?
Yes, I’m really happy here and I’ll be back in January 2009. I have already put a request in to work part-time, three days a week. The company is great about being flexible with people who need family-time.
